Mission statement

Through SALOVE, we are passionately committed to empowering African women in the DMV. We celebrate our rich heritage and foster a vibrant, supportive community where every woman can thrive.

Our mission is to ignite personal and professional growth, champion equality and justice, and create transformative opportunities through educational programs, mentorship, leadership and support.

By engaging in meaningful community service, we give back and uplift ourselves, our families, friends, and neighborhoods, making a tangible difference. Together, we build bridges across cultures, amplify voices, and inspire a wave of positive change for a brighter, more inclusive future.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to create a thriving network of African women in the DMV who empower and uplift each other. We envision a future where every woman in our community feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach her highest potential. Where every woman feels like she belongs, is treated equally, and is heard and understood.

Through mutual encouragement, shared resources, and collective action, we aim to break barriers, foster resilience, and build a legacy of strength and unity. Together, we aspire to be a beacon of hope and empowerment, making a lasting impact on our own lives, the lives of others, and the broader community.

Our key word in everything we do is LOVE. SALOVE. We love first and then we do. We love first and then we talk. Nothing is based on politics or religion nor on our past experiences or opinions. Only love. Accept or give no labels. No judgement. No discrimination. We are all human. We are all equal.
