With more than 200 years of heritage, the village was built around the Aldie Mill, which produced corn and wheat in the 1800s.
Today, the village has a thriving historical district that pays tribute to the culture and traditions that define this Old Dominion farming community.

Things To Do In Aldie

The Aldie Harvest Festival, held on the third Saturday of October, attracts people from across Loudoun County and beyond. Established in 1964, the festival includes arts and crafts, local food vendors, and the Aldie Duck Race, an annual tradition of releasing thousands of rubber ducks in Little River, a 65-mile tributary that flows through Southwest Virginia.

If you're a history buff, check out Mt. Zion Old School Baptist Church, a building that was used as barracks, a prison, and a hospital during the American Civil War. Situated on the corner of Little River Turnpike and Old Carolina Road, the church was built in 1851 and hosts reenactments and tours.

If you're hungry in Aldie, head to Village Center Plaza where you'll find Italian restaurants, pizza parlors, and sandwich shops. If it's a bargain you're after, visit Aldie Peddler, a shop that sells vintage furniture and antique treasures. The store's owner also organizes regular wine tasting events.
