Just like you would want the best lawyer to represent you in the court of law. You want the best Realtor to represent you in one of the biggest investment purchases in your life.
Buying a home without a Realtor to represent you, negotiate for you and have your best interest at heart is like going to court and representing yourself without a lawyer.
No seller or listing agent will ever have your best interest at heart in the transaction. The seller wants as much as possible money and the listing agent represents their client's best interest. Not yours.
Virginia is a Caveat Emptor state. This means Buyer be Aware. It is the buyer's responsibility to look out for themselves when buying a home. You need someone on your side.
